Town of Glenville, NY:
How to Save Forty Grand
Challenge
In 2007, the Town of Glenville, NY was awarded a $40,000 grant from New York
State to implement LiveScan, an automated arrest system that captures
and transmits fingerprint images electronically to the Department of Criminal
Justice Services. If the town did not have the system installed within 12 months
from the award date of the grant, it would have to refund the $40K back to the
State.
Come the eleventh month, Glenville realized it was in danger of missing its
implementation deadline. The town needed expert help, and fast.
Solution
Rockit Science Solutions was already providing its flagship service RockitNet™
to the Town of Glenville, proactively and cost-effectively monitoring and
managing the entire network infrastructure for the town. When asked if the
company could also implement LiveScan for the Police Department, Rockit Science
stepped up and successfully installed and implemented the application in less
than one month, saving the town $40,000.
“The members of the Glenville Police Department would like to thank you for
your invaluable service in bringing our LiveScan System to life. Detective
William Marchewka speaks very highly of your knowledge, professionalism, ability
to coordinate numerous contacts; and most of all, your positive helpful attitude
in bringing this task to completion,” said Police Chief Michael Ranalli. “The
project was a success and a great step for the cutting edge of police work.”
